History

The Stricto Sensu Graduate Program, offering Master’s and Doctoral degrees, was established in 2007 and is provided through a broad association between the Department of Physical Education at the Federal University of Viçosa (DES-UFV) and the School of Physical Education and Sports at the Federal University of Juiz de Fora (FAEFID-UFJF). The program received a score of 5 in the 2017-2020 quadrennial evaluation by CAPES.

The program aims to meet the demand for highly qualified professionals generated by various undergraduate and specialization courses in Physical Education and related fields. Focused on training higher education faculty with expertise in research in Physical Education and related areas, the program provides students with knowledge and skills related to scientific research, knowledge production, and dissemination in topics related to Physical Education.
